Bachelor’s thesis project exploring evolving trends in cooking and entertaining, centered around experimentation with food. 

‘Gusto’ is a ‘cookstation’ designed to invite dinner guests into the kitchen. The induction cooktop surface only heats objects made of magnetic metals, which enables preparation, cooking and dining to take place on the same surface. Specifically designed accessories (cutting board, plate, teppan yaki plate) accommodate the difference in ergonomically recommended height for each task to make their cohabitation possible. Sliding shelves provide storage underneath the unit, and can be pushed out of the way to make room for a wheelchair (Gusto was tested and approved by members of Enable Ireland).
